Model: Ultracut R
Leica Microsystems GmbH, Austria

Brief Description:

• Ultramicrotome is used to take thin sections of resin embedded samples, using glass and diamond knives, to study under Transmission Electron Microscope. The instrument can ba used to take ultrathin sections in the range of 50 to 100 nanometers and semithin sections in the range of 1 to 5 microns.

• Stereo zoom microscope :- Magnification :- 10, 5 X – 45 X
• Knife block :- Rotates 360º
• Clearance angle setting :- from -2 to +15º
• Knife stage :- Lateral movement of 25mm

• To study ultrastructural details of various biological samples from plant, aminal and microbial origin.
• Ultra thin sections in the nanometer range for electron microscopy (up to 5nm)
• Thick sections in the micron range for infra-Red Spectroscopy (up to 5000 nm)
• Semi-Thin sections for optical microscopy
• Surface preparation for X-Ray microanalysis.
